The first Alpaca festival really exceeded our expectations, with warm memories of late night braiding and origami sessions, concerts mixing algorithmic and carnatic music, and loads of workshops exploring patterns through turntables, paper, kumihimo disks, juggling balls etc etc. You can watch all the talks from the conference online, and enjoy the 3 minute festival recap here:
In our experience an annual festival is too much! As soon as one is done you have to get straight on with organising the next one! So we decided on a ~18 month cycle, giving us a spring 2027 festival next time.
We don’t want to change too much, maybe grow it slightly, and have an extra day to space out the talk programme more. Ideas welcome
